Season Format
Game Format
Kell League uses a hybrid ruleset blending NBA and NCAA rules. The night's main event runs on a different format than the earlier games.
REGULAR GAMES
Two 20-minute halves
MAIN EVENT (FINAL GAME)
Four 10-minute quarters
Rules Summary
- 01Hybrid ruleset — a mix of NBA and NCAA rules (no 3-second lane violations enforced)
- 02Regular games: two 20-minute halves with a running clock; clock stops in the final 2 minutes
- 03Main event (final game of the night): four 10-minute quarters
- 04Half format fouls: team bonus at 7 team fouls per half — fouled player shoots a one-and-one
- 05Quarter format fouls: team bonus at 5 team fouls per quarter — two free throws on the bonus
- 06Player foul-out at 5 personal fouls (quarter games) / 6 personal fouls (half games)
- 07Mercy rule: game ends automatically if a team is down by 30+ points
- 08Men's teams: lose by 30 twice and you are removed from the league
- 09Women's teams: lose by 30 three times and you are removed from the league
- 10Removed teams may rejoin by paying a returner's fee — details from the league president
- 11Stats and foul counts are recorded and posted after every game
- 12Winning AND losing teams are interviewed after each game
- 13All players must complete the Player Agreement Form before tip-off
- 14Unsportsmanlike conduct results in immediate ejection and review
